CHOOSING THE RIGHT SIZE 

SMALL SPACES 

Powder rooms, small hallways, narrow walls, shelves → Recommend: 8×8" (square) or 6×8" (rectangle) 

MEDIUM WALLS 

Above desks, bedside tables, small accent walls → Recommend: 10×10" (square) or 9×12" (rectangle)

 LARGE WALLS

Above sofas, beds, dining tables, entryways → Recommend: 12×12" or 14×14" (square) or 12×16" (rectangle)

 GALLERY WALLS (Multiple pieces together) → Mix square and rectangle formats for dynamic look → Example: Three 10×10" squares + two 9×12" rectangles 

SQUARE VS. RECTANGLE - WHICH TO CHOOSE? 

CHOOSE SQUARE FORMATS IF: 

  • You want a modern, contemporary look 
  • You're creating a symmetrical gallery wall 
  • Your space has square or cube-like proportions 
  • You want the gallery wrap option (no frame needed) 
  • You prefer balanced, centered compositions 

CHOOSE RECTANGLE FORMATS IF: 

  • You want a traditional, classic look 
  • You have vertical or horizontal wall space to fill 
  • You're hanging above furniture (rectangles are standard) 
  • You prefer landscape or portrait orientations 
  • You want to create visual height or width 

 MEASURING YOUR WALL

 STEP 1: Measure your available wall space (width × height)

 STEP 2: Art should take up 2/3 to 3/4 of the available width

 STEP 3: For art above furniture, leave 6-8 inches of space between furniture top and bottom of frame

 EXAMPLES:

 Above a Sofa (72" wide)

  • Ideal art width: 48-54" 
  • Options: 
    • One 14×14" square (17" framed) 
    • One 12×16" rectangle (15×19" framed) 
    • Two 12×12" squares side-by-side (30" total) 
    •  Three 10×10" squares in a row (39" total)

 Above a Bed (60" wide headboard)

  • Ideal art width: 40-45"
  • Options:
    •  One 12×12" or 14×14" square
    •  One 12×16" rectangle
    •  Two 9×12" rectangles side-by-side

Hallway or Narrow Wall (24" wide)

  • Ideal art width: 16-18" 
  • Options: 
    • One 8×8" or 10×10" square 
    • One 6×8" or 9×12" rectangle
